METALLIC THREADS INFORMATION
Helpful information for using Marathon Metallic threads metallic threads
The ideal sized needle to use is 80/14 Metallica (Schmetz). It has a larger eye which make the thread pass through the needle without too much friction or heat build up and reduces thread shredding or breaking. Adjust your tension a little more loose and slow your speed down too.
One of the most common issues it the thread kinking or looping. There are a couple of ideas.
Put the thread up much higher, maybe on a shelf and inside a cup or a small jar. Putting the thread within a cup or small jar and leaving is on the machine table behind the machine it another trick.
Then another way is to un-wind a metre off the spool, leave on the machine and let it feed for the loose thread. Stop and un-wind a metre at a time. If you have a thread net that fits your metallic spool, try that. Keep the spool covered in the net and it comes off in a more controlled manner. There will be a way that helps with this issue should it arise.
